After all the "long Story" Current Registrar, Mr Dotun Awoyemi, emerges acting Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University

The past few weeks have been hell within the premises of Obafemi Awolowo University. The drama started when Prof Salami was announced as the man who will take over from Prof Bamitale Omole as the next Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University. In reaction to this, the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) took to the streets to protest the decision, they even went to the extent of playing "Gbedu" music on the major roads while mounting road blocks.

Consequent upon the one-month-long protest by OAU SSANU and NASU members, President Muhammadu Buhari appoints Ile-Ife indigene, Mr. Dotun Awoyemi, the Registrar of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife as the Acting Vice Chancellor. 

However, OAU students still go about shouting "OAU strikes more than Thunder!!"

"OAU - Oba Adaniduro University!" translated to mean, The Master Delayer University. Perhaps because the frequent strike actions in OAU tend to delay students a lot.
