Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU authorities have shut down the university following the commencement of the non-teaching staff strike.

The strike action paralyses major operations including electricity, water, and healthcare in the university.

In a statement issued by the University Public Relations officer, Abiodun Olarewaju, it is stated that the Senate of the institution, at its emergency meeting held on Tuesday, approved that the students should proceed on an “End of the Year” break with immediate effect.

Meanwhile; outside campus, satellite students who are still hanging around have been spotted throwing knockouts A.K.A "bangers" in hostels. They say it's #ThrowBack Christmas.
