That depends on a number of factors; your course of study, your level of study (BSc, MSc, PhD, Diploma etc.) and of course industrial stability (strike actions).
Normally, a standard degree program lasts four years (8 semesters or 4 sessions) but specialised courses requires a few more years like Law (5 years), Engineering (5 years), Medicine and surgery (about 7 years though we're not certain about this) etc.
An Msc programme lasts for about 18 months with a year given to course work and the remaining 6 months devoted to research. The PhD program lasts 3 years with 2 years for course work and the third year devoted to ones dissertation. Obtaining a Diploma takes about 2 years.
However, you'd be naive to ignore potential academic delays due to industrial strike actions . UNIBEN once lost an entire academic year due to an internal strike action and during the 2012–2013 session, people had to sit out 6 months over a nation-wide industrial action that was championed by the likes of #UNIBEN!
