Reports reached us earlier today that the North and South gates have been removed. This report was supported by uploaded pictures on Whatsapp and Facebook.
The removal of South Gate is believed to have been perpetrated overnight as neighbouring occupants woke up to the shocking disappearance of the entrance barricade. It was quite astonishing to see that even a part of North gate was later removed at the early hours of the day.
The removal of the gates is of course not unrelated to the on-going protest action and call made by three of the Staff Unions of the University community under the JAC.
Our correspondent was able to gather that the removal of the gates must have been a well-calculated action by the School Management, who have had it difficult to get University workers into and out the Institution.
It is believed that this action was to ensure that the resistance of the Staff Unions, who have been locking the gates to deprive University workers from gaining entrance to carry out due responsibilities, was broken.
However, we are yet to hear any of the parties claim responsibility for the sudden disappearance of the School gates.
Students have also expressed concerns about the removal of the gates, as they took to various social media and instant messaging platforms to pass comments on the incidence. Many who are beginning to doubt the possibility of the school resuming her new session by November 6th as timely scheduled, have started pleading to Staff Unions and the School Management to amicably resolve the on-going fracas.
