Despite the fact that students are already occupying halls of residence on campus, students are still bitter about the power outage ravaging campus. It has become so serious that students are scared of taking a walk around campus late into the evening.
Only a handful of buildings have electricity at the moment, which includes the Senate building, the faculty of humanities and the students union building. Students living in the hostels are seen often times, carrying multi sockets and extension boxes looking for where to charge their phones and laptops. Thank God for the cool weather; if not, it would have been double whammy for students due to the heat. Why must Obafemi Awolowo University always try to make life unbearable for students?
