EXCLUSIVE; CHASING SHADOWS AN OPEN LETTER FROM AN ALUMNI OF UNIVERSITY OF OSUN..

When I heard that the University I attended had been renamed I wasn't shocked neither was I surprised on seeing a photograph of the best graduating student being presented with a cup (the type you get as a souvenir at an owambe eventπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚) by the Governor.

This is because with Gov Aregbesola you need to prepare for the unexpected (only uniosun students can relate). I personally don't mind if my beloved uniosun is renamed to Bola Ige University or even "Omoluabi University " (πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚) but I do mind when a name is all that is being given when there are more pressing issues to be attended to.

I mean,if you are going to snatch the name we have all grown to cherish then you should be willing to compensate us for damages 😐😐 (give the school a reason to overlook the new name) .

I don't blame the activist-like colleagues of mine who have taken up placards to fight for our school, the school only came into existence few years ago yet younger schools have recorded greater achievement than ours.

It is our joy to see our school ranking high in the list of the world best but how can that be achieved when all we are focused on is a name change?

How can the students be gingered to work hard in becoming the best graduant when they know that they will only be presented a Cup in public (regardless of what they are given behind the scene) .

This is not a fault finding article to the present government, it is simply the opinion of a Uniosun alumna who seeks real change!!!
