Authorities of the Cross River University of Technology are currently at logger heads with some senior members of staff of the institution over attempts to take possession of Boys Quarters attached to bungalows.
The school authority had conceived the idea of allocating the BQs and reallocating them to junior staff who are finding it difficult to pay exorbitant house rents outside the campus.
But the senior staff members have threatened to resist the directive by management to relinquish their BQs to junior members of staff.
Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Anthony Owan-Enoh, accused the senior staff members of renting out the BQs to students and other workers at a cost higher than what government was collecting as charges for the quarters.
But a cross section of the staff resident in the staff quarters said what the vice-chancellor was requesting for was unheard of and highly inconsiderate ...
