NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES ARE USING OUTDATED SYLLABUSES

Nigerian universities are using outdated syllabuses in teaching their courses, says the Executive Secretary of the
National Universities Commission (NUC) Professor Julius Okojie .

Speaking in Abuja during a visit by the Computer Professionals Council of Nigeria (CPN), Okojie noted said the syllabuses of courses studied in universities are outdated. Okojie identified said the Nigerian university system is plagued by many issues including; poor ratio of teacher-to-student, outdated Curriculum, lack of effective software and Hardware development, archaic system, poor security, examination malpractices and relevance of subject taught in the system.

The NUC boss also assured CPN of the support of the Commission in moving the profession forward.
