About 900 female undergraduates from 20 universities attended an empowerment seminar organized by the
Entrepreneurship Action in US (ENACTUS). The seminar which was held at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, was sought to mentor female students to become successful leaders in business and politics.

According to the head of the ENACTUS media team, Elizabeth Okwoho , who was quoted in a The Nation report, the aim is to engage the female students in community-based project that will influence and educate grassroots women.
“What brings up the idea of women empowerment is the need to train female students, who will engage women population in the northern part of the country that has been edged out of economic opportunities, because of religious barrier," Okwoho said.
"We need to break this barrier and this is why we have brought successful women to inspire the trainees."

One of the participants, Excel Deyofege , a student of University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), said the mentorship she received has boosted her dream to become a business leader, especially with regards to time management.
